Drug & Alcohol Assessment / Treatment

Wahkiakum County Substance Use Disorder Program offers a wide range of chemical dependency services at our facility. These services include drug and alcohol assessments, individual counseling sessions, and group sessions for adults and youth. Our counselors encourage family involvement in order to offer to support the addicted individual, as well as, to identify concerns and support change within the family unit. We are an ever evolving department and our group schedules may be adjusted to meet the needs of our clients in the future.

Adult

Individual sessions are scheduled to best meet the needs of the client and the family. At a minimum, an individual will meet one time per month with a CD counselor to review their treatment plan and assess the progress they have on the objectives identified on the plan.

Chemical dependency treatment will support those who are on probation, Department of Corrections (DOC), referred by the high school(s), medical provider, mental health provider, Alcohol & Drug Evaluations Services (ADES) Oregon, Washington Department of Licensing and those that are self and/or family referred.

Youth

Wahkiakum County chemical dependency treatment counselors offer a wide range of chemical dependency services at our facility including outreach, standard and DUI assessments, individual counseling sessions, as well as group sessions. Occasional family involvement is encouraged during individual sessions to support the addicted individual as well as to identify concerns and support change within the family unit. We are an ever evolving department and our group schedules may be adjusted to meet the needs of our clients in the future.

We work with youth individually and may connect them to a group later in the treatment process. Evidence is pointing toward individual sessions and individual sessions that include an important person in the life of the Youth being more effective than a group setting. Groups may be implemented for youth as it is deemed appropriate and effective.

Individual sessions are scheduled to best meet the needs of the client and the family. Chemical dependency treatment will support those who are on truancy, diversion, probation, Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration (JRA) Supervision, referred by the middle / high school(s), medical provider, mental health provider, and those that are self and/or family referred.

DUI/DWI

Wahkiakum County offers assessment and treatment for those that are involved in a DUI or DWI situations.  There are Washington Administrative Code requirements for DUI or DWI situations that outline what the treatment process will be guided by.  Wahkiakum County chemical dependency will provide support for any person who is going through a DUI or DWI situation. Chemical dependency staff will also support the client with the Department of Licensing (DOL) requirements if they would like to start the process of connecting to the DOL to clear problems with their driver’s license, if any.

Deferred Prosecution

Wahkiakum County offers assessment and treatment for those that are involved in a deferred prosecution situation.  Normally people may get deferred prosecution for a DWI, DUI, or Negligent 1 Driving incident.  There are Washington Administrative Code requirements for deferred prosecution that outline what the treatment process will be guided by.  Wahkiakum County chemical dependency will provide support for any person who is going through a deferred prosecution. Chemical dependency staff will also support the client with the Department of Licensing (DOL) requirements if they would like to start the process of connecting to the DOL to clear problems with their driver’s license, if any.
